ZIMS (Zagreb International Medical Summit for Medical Students and Young Doctors) is first student summit organised by medical students in Zagreb, Croatia. Aim of this summit is to gather medical and adjacent students from Croatia, as well as from other countries. Young doctors are welcome, too. Definition of "young doctor" is here taken from EMSA Europe congress guidelines as "a person which graduated in the past year".

1st ZIMS

On October 26th - 28th 2001 1st ZIMS was organised. We hosted 94 participants from 6 countries. 32 scientific papers were presented in form of oral presentation and posters. We had a contest for best lecturer and best scientific paper, and winners were rewarded. On Sunday we had a field trip to Northern Croatia, a land of myth and legends. We visited castle Traksocan, a crown jewel of North Croatia. On our way back we had a lunch in traditional local inn. Finally, we came back to Zagreb in the late afternoon.

Participants from 1st ZIMS had to fill a survey in the end of summit. They were mostly content with what they were given here. One comment deserves to be mentioned: "All the lectures were in bad english!". Well, dear participant, we cannot help in that one. But you can.

If you would like to see the atmosphere of 1st ZIMS, please do yourself a favour and visit ZIMS 1 webpage or watch flash movie.
