Guidelines for application and scientific work presentation in ZIMS (based
and adapted from EMSA Europe Internal rules, document VP96029h)
Research works
The research works, to be presented in ZIMS, have to fulfil the following
criteria:
The author(s) of the research work must be a
medical student or must have graduated in the past year;
The research group cannot consist of more than
4 authors/co-authors and 2 tutors;
The research must be original;
Research that represents bibliographic revisions
will not be accepted;
At least one of the authors must be enrolled
in the congress;
An author cannot present more than 2 works;
None of the research works presented in the
congress can have been published before;
The work shall be sent to the OC;
The OC is not responsible for damage or loss
of the research work.
The OC reserves for itself all the legal rights
for the duplication of the contents of the articles/abstracts, no editorial
changes can be made.
Abstract form
The abstract form should at least contain :
Title - The title of the research work should
be clear, not exceeding 10 words and should contain the necessary information
that makes the classification of the article possible;
Names of author(s) and co-author(s) (first
name in full or only the first letter) or Professor that supported the
research work, tutors and their academic title;
Institutional affiliation with the author and
co-authors (medical faculty and country) or affiliation with the organisation
that patronises the investigation;
The abstract contains the essentials of the
research work:
a. It usually contains a description of the problem, the methodology,
the most important results and the most important conclusions;
b. Avoid indicating bibliographic references, results or conclusions
that are not found in the article;
c. Use in the abstract and in the article a formal language;
d. It cannot contain more than 250 words.
Keywords - up to five relevant keywords should
be supplied for subject indexing.
(Any research work that does not use these instructions
will not be published in the Abstract Book)
Poster presentation
Should not last more than 10 minutes including
two minutes for questions.
The poster should be presented by only one person,
in case of participant's delay the poster will not be presented
The posters should be in the "poster room"
2 hours before the presentation and should be left there at least for
the rest of the session.
Previous arrangements must be made by the OC
in order to guarantee the security of the posters, including the necessary
materials for the setup of the poster session.
Once in the poster room, it cannot be corrected
One poster per study (dimensions: 1m x 70cm)
on only one side, colors and materials of choice.
Should be numbered and should include (as in
the article)
a. Title and subtitle (incl. the name of the authors and co-authors)
b. Introduction
c. Materials and methods
d. Results
e. Discussion
f. Conclusion
g. References
h. Tables and Figures
i. Acknowledgements
Free (oral) presentation
Should not last more than 10 minutes plus five
minutes for questions.
Should be presented by only one person;
In case the participant is delayed (or not present)
the OC decides whether it can be reprogrammed;
Should include visual support as slides transparencies
or computer: these are numbered and should include (as in the article).

The number of slides is the responsibility of
the author.
In case of problems with the slides the presentation
will continue, as there will be given no extra time
The slides should be given to the OC at least
2 hours before the oral presentation, preferably 24 hours before (if
applicable).
